Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: July 15, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains what is and is not allowed when using Panel.

It applies to:

  • Accounts and authentication;

  • Projects and User Content;

  • prompts, Inputs, and Reference Material;

  • AI Outputs;

  • uploads and storage;

  • Public Projects, unlisted links, and embeds;

  • traffic, automation, and use of Panel infrastructure; and

  • any attempt to access or interact with the Service.


This AUP is part of the Panel Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.

Panel is provided by Panel Labs s.r.o. Reports may be submitted through https://www.panel.design/contact or hello@panel.design.

 

1. General rule

You may use Panel for lawful creative, editorial, artistic, educational-for-adults, professional, and personal projects, provided that you have the necessary rights and your use does not harm others, deceive people, compromise the Service, or violate this AUP.

You are responsible for your Inputs, Reference Material, uploads, Projects, publication choices, and use of Outputs.

The examples below are not exhaustive. Conduct with substantially the same harmful purpose or effect is also prohibited.

 

2. Illegal activity

Do not use Panel to create, store, facilitate, promote, organize, instruct, or publish content or activity that violates applicable law.

This includes, without limitation:

  • facilitating violent crime, exploitation, trafficking, or unlawful weapons activity;

  • selling or promoting illegal goods or services;

  • evading sanctions, export controls, court orders, or law-enforcement restrictions;

  • fabricating evidence or documents for unlawful use;

  • facilitating unauthorized surveillance or access to data; or

  • encouraging another person to commit a specific illegal act.


Fictional, documentary, journalistic, historical, satirical, or educational treatment of unlawful conduct is not prohibited merely because it depicts that conduct, provided the context is lawful and does not facilitate harm.


3. Intellectual property and proprietary rights

Do not upload, generate, publish, or use content in a way that infringes or misappropriates:

  • copyright;

  • trademark;

  • design rights;

  • trade secrets;

  • database rights;

  • rights in characters or brands;

  • contractual confidentiality; or

  • another proprietary right.

You must have the rights needed for every upload, prompt, reference image, logo, character, brand, source artwork, and other protected material you use.

You may not use Panel to:

  • reproduce or distribute pirated material;

  • remove or falsify rights-management information;

  • imitate a brand, product, or creator in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, origin, or authorization;

  • generate substantially infringing copies of protected work;

  • evade a rights holder's access or technical controls; or

  • repeatedly publish material after receiving a credible infringement notice.


A request to work in a broad genre, medium, movement, or visual tradition is not automatically prohibited. However, you must not use a living artist's name, work, or identity to create a misleading endorsement, pass off an Output as that artist's work, reproduce protected elements unlawfully, or otherwise infringe rights.

 

4. Privacy, personal data, and publicity rights

Do not use Panel to violate another person's privacy, confidentiality, data-protection rights, or right of publicity.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • publishing private or identifying information without a lawful basis;

  • doxxing;

  • exposing a home address, private contact detail, government identifier, financial information, medical information, intimate information, or live location to threaten, shame, or endanger someone;

  • using a person's image or likeness commercially without permission where permission is required;

  • creating or publishing private communications obtained unlawfully;

  • using covertly obtained images or recordings in a harmful or unlawful way; or

  • submitting personal data that you have no right to process.

Do not upload highly sensitive or regulated personal data unless Panel expressly supports the use and you have a clear lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.

 

5. Non-consensual intimate and sexual content

You may not use Panel to create, transform, store, or publish:

  • non-consensual intimate images;

  • sexualized images of a real person without that person's informed permission;

  • “nudification” or removal/alteration of clothing to fabricate nudity;

  • sexual face swaps;

  • voyeuristic or exploitative sexual content;

  • threats to create or distribute intimate content;

  • sexual extortion; or

  • content that presents a real person as participating in sexual activity that did not occur.

Pornographic or sexually explicit content and adult AI-generated content are not allowed on Panel at launch. Non-sexual artistic nudity may be reviewed in context, but it must be lawful, consensual where a real person is depicted, non-exploitative, and never involve a minor.

 

6. Child sexual abuse, exploitation, and minors

Panel has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child exploitation.

You may not create, upload, request, transform, store, publish, link to, or facilitate:

  • CSAM, whether photographic, illustrated, synthetic, or AI-generated;

  • sexualized or fetishized depictions of a minor;

  • grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or sexual exploitation of a minor;

  • instructions for obtaining or concealing CSAM;

  • age-regression or other transformation that sexualizes a person as a minor;

  • content that promotes or normalizes sexual contact with minors; or

  • any attempt to evade child-safety controls.

At launch, you must not use a photograph or other identifiable likeness of a real minor as Reference Material for an AI Feature.

Lawful fictional stories may depict children and difficult child-safety subjects for a legitimate artistic, educational, documentary, or protective purpose, but they may never sexualize, exploit, groom, or endanger a minor.

A person must be at least 18 to create or control a Panel Account.


7. Harassment, threats, violence, and hate 

Do not use Panel to:

  • make a credible threat of violence;

  • encourage or coordinate violence against a person or group;

  • celebrate or facilitate a specific violent attack;

  • stalk, intimidate, or repeatedly target a person;

  • encourage self-harm by a specific person;

  • organize harassment or dogpiling;

  • publish content intended to terrorize or seriously endanger someone;

  • praise, support, recruit for, or materially assist a terrorist organization; or

  • attack, dehumanize, or advocate exclusion, segregation, or violence against people based on a protected characteristic.


Protected characteristics include race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, and other characteristics protected by applicable law.

This rule does not prohibit good-faith criticism of ideas, institutions, governments, religions, or public conduct, or lawful artistic, documentary, historical, counterspeech, or educational content. Context matters.

Graphic fictional violence may be allowed where lawful and not used for a prohibited purpose, but Panel may restrict exceptionally graphic or shocking Public Content to protect users, providers, or the Service.

 

8. Fraud, impersonation, and deceptive practices

Do not use Panel to deceive people about identity, origin, authenticity, approval, or evidence.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • identity theft;

  • impersonating a real person or organization for fraud or harm;

  • fake endorsements or testimonials;

  • fabricated invoices, credentials, identity documents, or official records;

  • misleading synthetic news or evidence;

  • scams, phishing, or social engineering;

  • manipulating a person into sending money, credentials, or confidential information;

  • false claims that an Output is an authentic photograph, recording, statement, or act of a real person where that misrepresentation could cause harm; and

  • deceptive political impersonation, voter suppression, or fabricated election evidence.


Clearly disclosed parody, satire, fiction, or artistic transformation may be allowed where lawful and unlikely to mislead a reasonable viewer in context.


9. Malware, phishing, and security abuse 

Do not use Panel or its public links, assets, or embeds to:

  • distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, malicious scripts, or harmful code;

  • host or facilitate phishing or credential theft;

  • probe, scan, or test a system without authorization;

  • exploit a vulnerability;

  • interfere with availability or integrity;

  • conduct a denial-of-service attack;

  • access another user's Account, content, or data without permission;

  • bypass authentication or authorization;

  • inject code into an Embed or Project;

  • conceal malicious destinations or payloads; or

  • use Panel as command-and-control, redirect, proxy, or abusive hosting infrastructure.


Good-faith security research must be authorized in advance or conducted strictly within applicable law without accessing other users' data, disrupting service, or exploiting a vulnerability beyond what is necessary to report it.

Report a suspected vulnerability through https://www.panel.design/contact and mark it “Security issue.”

 

10. Bypassing limits, credits, and access controls

Do not attempt to bypass, manipulate, or defeat:

  • Account eligibility;

  • authentication or session controls;

  • storage or file-size limits;

  • Plan entitlements;

  • AI Credit deductions, expiry, or grant rules;

  • generation rate or quantity limits;

  • publication limits;

  • payment status;

  • fair-use controls;

  • moderation actions; or

  • suspension or termination.

Examples include:

  • creating replacement Accounts to obtain another one-time credit grant;

  • replaying, forging, or manipulating billing webhooks;

  • altering a client to avoid a server-side charge;

  • using another person's Account without authorization;

  • fragmenting files or requests solely to evade limits; and

  • returning after suspension without Panel's permission.

 

11. Abusive automation, scraping, and infrastructure use

Panel does not offer a public API at launch. Unless Panel gives written permission, do not:

  • use bots or scripts to create Accounts, Projects, generations, or publications at scale;

  • scrape non-public pages or data;

  • harvest email addresses, personal data, or User Content;

  • crawl in a way that ignores technical instructions or materially burdens the Service;

  • use automated browser activity to evade rate limits;

  • resell access to Panel;

  • use Panel as bulk storage, a generic CDN, file-sharing infrastructure, or an origin for unrelated traffic;

  • generate excessive bandwidth, storage churn, or compute use that is disproportionate to ordinary creative use; or

  • benchmark, extract, or replicate the Service to build a competing product through unauthorized access.

Ordinary search-engine indexing of public pages, accessibility tools, and reasonable manual use are allowed. Researchers and integration partners should ask for permission before automated access.

 

12. Prohibited AI and Reference Material use

In addition to the rules above, do not use AI Features to:

  • create adult AI-generated content;

  • enable face swaps or deceptive deepfakes;

  • clone or impersonate a real person's identity, voice, signature, or endorsement;

  • use an identifiable real minor as Reference Material;

  • generate non-consensual sexual or intimate content;

  • generate CSAM or sexualized minors;

  • create fraudulent evidence, official records, or identity documents;

  • materially facilitate infringement;

  • create deceptive political communications or voter-manipulation material;

  • make medical, legal, financial, employment, housing, credit, education-admission, insurance, law-enforcement, or other high-impact decisions about a person;

  • infer highly sensitive traits about a real person;

  • identify or track a person biometrically; or

  • create content designed to evade provider safety controls.

For a real adult's image or likeness, you must have the rights and permission required for the intended use. Public availability of an image does not by itself prove that you may use it as AI Reference Material.

You must review every Output before use. You must not remove or obscure a legally required AI disclosure, provenance marker, watermark, or machine-readable label.

 

13. Harmful or unlawful public publishing

Content that may be lawful to keep privately can still create unacceptable risk when publicly published.

Do not publish or embed content that:

  • violates any part of this AUP;

  • creates an imminent safety risk;

  • directs viewers to malware, scams, or illegal services;

  • falsely presents itself as an official Panel or third-party page;

  • exposes private information;

  • contains unlawful advertising or regulated offers;

  • is designed primarily for spam, search manipulation, or traffic abuse;

  • uses shocking or graphic material to harass or deceive;

  • violates a court order or valid legal restriction; or

  • is otherwise harmful or unlawful in the jurisdiction where it is directed.

You are responsible for the audience, context, labels, warnings, and permissions for Published Content.

 

14. Spam and unsolicited activity

Do not use Panel to:

  • send unsolicited bulk messages;

  • operate lead-generation, bulk outreach, or spam campaigns;

  • publish repetitive pages primarily to manipulate search results;

  • create fake engagement, testimonials, reviews, or social proof;

  • direct deceptive traffic through public links or embeds; or

  • collect viewer data without lawful notice and basis.

 

15. Safety-critical and regulated uses

Panel is a creative tool, not a certified system for safety-critical or regulated decisions. Do not rely on Panel or an AI Output as the sole or authoritative basis for:

  • emergency response;

  • medical diagnosis or treatment;

  • legal advice or legal status;

  • financial or tax advice;

  • credit, insurance, housing, employment, or education decisions;

  • law-enforcement action;

  • critical infrastructure operation; or

  • another use where an error could reasonably cause death, personal injury, serious rights impact, or major property damage.

 

16. Reporting illegal or prohibited content

Submit a report through https://www.panel.design/contact or hello@panel.design.

Include, where available:

  • the exact Panel public URL or other identifier;

  • the category of concern;

  • a clear explanation;

  • the country or legal basis relevant to an illegality claim;

  • screenshots or other evidence;

  • your contact details; and

  • the action requested.

 

16.1 Copyright or trademark reports

Also include:

  • identification of the protected work or mark;

  • identification of the material complained of;

  • the rights holder's name;

  • your authority to act, if you are an agent;

  • a good-faith statement that the reported use is unauthorized; and

  • a statement that the information is accurate.

 

16.2 Privacy, likeness, or intimate-content reports

Also identify: 

  • the person affected;

  • your relationship or authority, if reporting for someone else;

  • why the use is non-consensual or unlawful;

  • any immediate safety concern; and

  • enough information to verify identity without sending unnecessary sensitive data.

 

16.3 Urgent safety reports

Mark the report “Urgent safety report” for suspected CSAM, non-consensual intimate content, a credible imminent threat, phishing/malware, or another immediate danger.

If someone is in immediate physical danger, contact the local emergency service first. The Panel contact channel is not an emergency service and is not monitored 24/7.

Do not send or re-upload apparent CSAM. Provide the URL, Account or Project identifier, and a description sufficient for us to locate and secure the material.

 

17. Review and enforcement

Panel uses limited human moderation at launch and may later use automated or provider-assisted detection. We do not guarantee that we will detect every violation.

When evaluating a report or detected issue, we may consider:

  • the content and context;

  • public versus private distribution;

  • actual or likely harm;

  • applicable law and jurisdiction;

  • the user's intent where relevant;

  • the user's history;

  • the reliability and completeness of the report;

  • rights and freedom of expression;

  • provider obligations; and

  • whether a less restrictive action can address the risk.


Possible actions include:

  • no action;

  • request for more information;

  • warning;

  • correction or labeling requirement;

  • limiting visibility;

  • unpublishing or disabling an Embed;

  • removing content;

  • restricting generation, uploads, or publication;

  • temporarily suspending an Account;

  • permanently terminating an Account;

  • preventing re-registration;

  • preserving relevant evidence; and

  • notifying a competent authority where lawful or required.


We may act immediately and without advance notice where reasonably necessary for imminent harm, CSAM, non-consensual intimate content, credible threats, malware, phishing, serious fraud, security abuse, or a facially valid urgent legal request.

Payment of a Subscription does not prevent enforcement.

 

18. Notice of action and reconsideration

Where legally required and not prohibited by law, a safety need, or the rights of another person, Panel will tell the affected user:

  • what action was taken;

  • the main factual reason;

  • whether the action concerns illegality, this AUP, or both;

  • the relevant legal or policy provision;

  • the scope and duration where known;

  • whether automated tools materially informed the decision; and

  • how to request reconsideration.


A user may request reconsideration through the contact page, preferably within 30 days. Include the relevant URL, Account email, the original decision, and why it should be changed.

Panel is operated by a small team and does not promise that a different person will review the request. We will consider the information in good faith and correct a clear mistake.

Unless we say otherwise, an enforcement action remains in effect during review.

 

19. Evidence preservation and lawful requests

Panel may preserve Account, content, access, billing, and report records reasonably necessary to:

  • investigate a violation;

  • protect a person or the Service;

  • prevent repeat abuse;

  • resolve a dispute or chargeback;

  • establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim;

  • comply with a preservation request or legal hold; or

  • respond to valid legal process.

We disclose information to authorities only where we believe disclosure is legally required or otherwise lawful and necessary. We may verify the identity, authority, scope, and jurisdiction of a request.

Where lawful and safe, we may notify the affected user. We may delay or withhold notice where prohibited, where it would compromise an investigation, or where it could increase harm.

 

20. Cooperation and evasion

You must reasonably cooperate with a safety, security, rights, billing, or abuse investigation, including by providing accurate information and preserving relevant records.

Do not retaliate against a reporter, submit knowingly false or abusive reports, impersonate a rights holder or authority, or use the reporting process to silence lawful expression.

Attempting to evade an action through another Account, slug, Embed, payment method, or identity is a separate violation.

 

21. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP to address new features, risks, laws, provider requirements, or abuse patterns.

For a material adverse change, we will normally provide advance notice as described in the Terms. We may make an immediate change where reasonably necessary to stop harm, comply with law, or meet an urgent security or provider requirement.
